The following article was published on the front page of “The Tennessean” on Sunday, November 9, 2003 recounting some of my father’s experience serving as a medic in World War II. Things not covered as a part of the article are that as a member of the 2nd Infantry Division he landed on Omaha Beach on D plus 1 (7 June 1944) and the 45th Infantry Division which liberated Dachau.
